PITTS VS. PREPS Parts Ways With Drummer, Announces New Album Title

December 25, 2006

PITTS VS. PREPS — the Louisiana-based band featuring former EXHORDER/FLOODGATE and current ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY frontman Kyle Thomas — has issued the following update:

"What's happenin? Crazy shit goin on right now. Wrappin' up pre-production stuff and a lineup change. PITTS have parted ways with drummer Alex Ducro. Alex will remain a good friend and someone to keep an eye on. Kyle tricked Bryan Cox from ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY to come play on the new record. The new record is called 'Asleep at the Black Mass' and the riffs are gonna rip your fucking head off. Contrary to recent press, PITTS VS. PREPS have other members beside Kyle Thomas and Jason Portera. Although they are handsome, perfect and always right, they do require the awesome metal presence of Scott Guion and Andy Shepherd. 'Asleep at the Black Mass' 2007."

PITTS VS. PREPS has made its "Below and Beyond" CD available for purchase via CDBaby.com.

Thomas had previously said about PITTS VS. PREPS' musical direction, "It is centered around the truest sound of heavy metal in the realm of old JUDAS PRIEST and IRON MAIDEN."

ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY is scheduled to release its follow-up to 2004's "Fulton Hill" in early 2007 via Relapse Records.

FLOODGATE will reunite to perform at Nola Underground's first annual Raise The Dead festival, set to take place Saturday, January 13, 2007 at One Eyed Jack's (615 Toulouse Street) in New Orleans. Proceeds from the gig will go to the New Orleans Musicians Hurricane Relief Fund, which is an organization that acts as an outreach program to New Orleans musicians affected by Hurricane Katrina.

Kyle was one of 57 artists contributing to Roadrunner Records' 2005 album to mark the label's 25th anniversary. The CD, entitled "The All-Star Sessions", featured Thomas singing on a track called "Constitution Down", written by SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison.
