Producer CHARLIE BAUERFEIND 'Putting Finishing Touches' On New SAXON Album

January 15, 2007

Producer Charlie Bauerfeind (BLIND GUARDIAN, HALFORD, HAMMERFALL) has posted the following message on his official web site:

"Just putting the finishing touches to the new SAXON album, 'The Inner Sanctum'. I'm very happy with the result. It turned out as a killer, full-on metal/heavy-rock album. Watch out for it in March.

"End of January I'll go down to Tenerife for a production-meeting with HELLOWEEN for their new album, before beginning of February, I'll start recording the new PRIMAL FEAR album and in April I'm gonna be in with [AXEL RUDI PELL] for some recordings."

SPV/Steamhammer has set a March 5 European release date for SAXON's "The Inner Sanctum". A single, entitled "If I Was You", will precede the full-length CD.

SAXON frontman Biff Byford previously stated about the "If I Was You" track, "I wrote the lyrics based on gun and knife crime having seen so many tragic stories of somebody getting knifed to death for a mobile phone and three quid or some young mother caught in the crossfire between two idiots with guns. 'If I was you and you were me, would you live your life differently?'"
