QUEEN Drummer Excited About Tour With PAUL RODGERS

Launch Radio Networks is reporting that QUEEN drummer Roger Taylor is really looking forward to the band's upcoming tour with Paul Rodgers on vocals. They're planning to go out in the spring, with a setlist made up of QUEEN music as well as FREE and BAD COMPANY songs. Taylor told Germany's ZDF, "We're enjoying playing, Brian and I, so much at the moment...We're not nervous, we're excited. We're too old to be nervous. It's more exciting than nerve racking." Taylor also said that it was an easy decision to have Rodgers stand in for the late Freddie Mercury: "He was one of Freddie's favorite singers and one of our favorite singers...we're very excited to be doing a tour."

The official Queenonline.com web site says the tour will hit mainland Europe and the U.K., but there's no mention of North American dates.

Rodgers and QUEEN guitarist Brian May performed together at the Fender Stratocaster 50th anniversary concert in London in September, and they both thought about working together. Then last month, Rodgers sang with May and Taylor when QUEEN was inducted to the U.K. Music Hall Of Fame in London, and they all started thinking about a tour.
