QUEENSRŸCHE Guitarist To Appear At 'Whip Ale' Re-Release Party
May 10, 2010Come celebrate the "official" re-release of Whip Ale! This is a collaborative effort between Diamond Knot Brewery and guitarist Michael "Whip" Wilton of QUEENSRŸCHE.
For some time now, they have been working to perfect the recipe, and now it is time to release the monster that hides with in this mouthwatering Pale Ale!
Whip Ale is an American Pale Ale bittered with Nugget, Simcoe and Cascade hops. Pale, Caramel and Vienna malts provide a balance to the bright, citrusy hop flavors. American Ale Yeast generates a clean, crisp finish. 30 IBUs; 6.1%ABV.
The party kicks off Wednesday, May 12 at the Diamond Knot Alehouse (621 Front Street, Mukilteo, WA) from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Michael Wilton will be on hand to help tap the first keg of Whip Ale.
Wilton is continuing work on his solo CD, which is tentatively due later in the year via Rat Pak Records and Century Media distribution.
Michael makes a guest appearance on a couple of songs on the new solo album from METAL CHURCH vocalist Ronny Munroe, entitled "The Fire Within".
QUEENSRŸCHE's twelfth studio LP, the epic concept album "American Soldier", was made available from Atco/Rhino in March 2009 for a suggested list price of $18.98 (CD) and $9.99 (digital). The ambitious album encompasses a dozen songs inspired by numerous interviews with veterans conducted by Geoff Tate, the group's singer and chief songwriter, who was intent on telling their story using their words. After speaking with soldiers who served in various conflicts — from World War II to Iraq — Tate turned their firsthand experiences from the frontlines into an unflinching musical examination of the life of a solider and the consequences of war.
