QUIREBOYS Frontman Unable To Make Tonight's UFO Gig
November 20, 2006QUIREBOYS' official web site has been updated with the following message:
"We regret to announce that Spike and [his backing] band cannot play tonight's show with UFO. There has been a problem with the tour bus and due to the distance involved it is impossible to get band and gear to the venue in time to play the show. We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and can reassure you that the UFO support slot will kick off tomorrow in Liverpool — albeit one day late."
Spike is touring in support of his second official solo album, "It's a Treat to be Alive". The new CD reportedly leans towards a rockier, harder-edged and at times bluesy feel, even featuring a couple of tracks with a country tinge to them. Spike wrote most of the CD, with co-writing credited to QUIREBOYS bandmate Paul Guerin among others.
