REBELANGELS Changes Name To ELIZIUM

July 28, 2006

Former MARDUK members Legion (a.k.a. Erik Hagsted vocals) and B.War (a.k.a. Roger "Bogge" Svensson bass) have changed the name of their new project to ELIZIUM from the previously announced REBELANGELS. According to reports, the name change was implemented because "the old name doesn't really go well anymore with the music they play nowadays."

Regarding the band's current sound, Legion previously stated, "The new [band] has been fueled with a lot of madness and darkness and can probably be described as our natural continuation of MARDUK only with a broader spectrum of musical visions. What really burned me out was that the concept of MARDUK narrowed me down to feeling like a fly in a jar. There was so much coming out of my guitar that would never fit, lyrically it was the same, rather than to spill out whatever will come out on a paper I found myself recycling old lyrics just trying to package them in a new snappy way. What we have done now is letting ourselves get inspired by all the stuff we really love, heavy music in all shapes and sizes from the '70s up 'till today is all in there together with our legacy so far from our previous projects that the foundation of the [the new band] rely steady upon."

ELIZIUM is:

Legion (a.k.a. Erik Hagsted) - Vocals
B.War (a.k.a. Roger "Bogge" Svensson) - Bass
Jimmy Larsen - Gutar
Jonas Mattson – Lead Guitar
Emil Dragutinovic (MARDUK, THE LEGION) - Drums
