RECKON WITH ONE Call It Quits

January 14, 2006

Brampton, Ontario-based metallers RECKON WITH ONE are calling it quits. The group's official statement on the matter reads as follows:

"After seven years, RECKON WITH ONE is calling it a day. I know to most people this will come as quite a surprise, as we just released a new CD, but it's true. I won't bore you with great details about why, I'll only say that 2005 was a very trying year for the band on a personal level and it took its toll on us, especially Andy [Muehlberg; bass, lead vocals]. After Andy decided to leave the band, we felt that it wouldn’t be the same without him. We have been very proud of the fact that we were one of the rare bands on the scene that kept its original line up for its whole existence.

"We would like to thank each and every band we have played with and all the great metal fans that have come out and supported us over the years.

"As you may have noticed, we are playing one last show on February 27th at Lee's Palace in Toronto with THE DEVIN TOWNSEND BAND…this will be the final live appearance of RECKON WITH ONE. And what better way to end then to play with Devin Townsend… he has been a big influence on our band. So we hope to see you there at the show.

"Some of you maybe asking what’s going to happen from here. …Good question…. I know Andy is going back to school…and as for myself (Mark Anthony; guitar, backing vocals),Gerry [Keough; drums] and Drew [Ferneyhough, keyboards]…. we may be forming a new band…. Nothing in stone yet…. but you will be the first to know."
