ROBERT PLANT Rocks With LED ZEPPELIN, Solo Material At SXSW

March 22, 2005

Launch Radio Networks reports: Robert Plant may not want to reunite LED ZEPPELIN, but he had no trouble playing the group's songs last week during his feature performance at the South By Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas. Plant and his band, the STRANGE SENSATION, reached into the ZEP catalog for six of the 14 songs they played during a 95-minute set on Thursday (March 17) at the Austin Music Hall. Included were re-arranged renditions of "No Quarter", "Heartbreaker", "Black Dog", and "When The Levee Breaks", along with "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" and a show-closing "Whole Lotta Love". Plant also performed three songs from his forthcoming album, "Mighty Rearranger", his solo hit "Tall Cool One", and covers of "Darkness, Darkness" and TIM HARDIN's "If I Were A Carpenter".

"Mighty Rearranger" comes out May 10. Plant plans to start a North American tour in June.
