RUSH's 'Countdown' To Wake Up Space Shuttle Crew Tomorrow

May 23, 2011

According to a posting on the RUSH fan site RushIsABand.com, a one-minute, edited clip of RUSH's "Countdown" from 1982's "Signals" album will be beamed to the Space Shuttle Endeavour this coming Tuesday, May 24 which happens to be Victoria Day in Canada (the historical date Queen Victoria's actual birthday, not the official holiday). It will be played as the wake-up music for the Shuttle crew, specifically at the request of Mission Specialist Mike Fincke at approximately 7 p.m. CDT and you can watch it live on NASA TV at this location. It will also likely be included as part of the Flight Day 10 highlights, to be shown around noon on the following day.

This is the final flight of the Space Shuttle Endeavour (mission STS-134) and the second-to-last Space Shuttle mission (STS-135 will be the last and is scheduled for July).
