SAATTUE To Enter Studio In April

January 16, 2009

Finnish metallers SAATTUE will enter D-Studio in Klaukkala, Finland in April with producer Jarno Hänninen to begin recording their second CD for a fall release via Spikefarm Records. According to a press release, "musically, the album will be natural follow-up to SAATTUE's debut, 'Jäähyvästi' [2008], and it will feature previously unreleased works of dark, slow and multi-dimensional 'saatto' metal."

Formed in 2001, SAATTUE ("procession" in Finnish) released its first self-financed EP, "Kivisydän", in 2004 and its follow-up, "Ikiuneen", in 2006.

SAATTUE "combines [its] native language Finnish [with] dark, raw and emotional musical elements," according to a press release. "SAATTUE's roots are deeply in doom metal and other extreme metal genres, but they've also gathered influences from dark rock groups such as the Finnish cult rock act MANA MANA. Typical trademarks of the SAATTUE sound are oppressive heaviness, rawness, atmospheric passages and ear-catching chorus melodies."
