SAXON's Upcoming Documentary To Include Footage Of 2008 DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL

According to an online post by SAXON frontman Biff Byford, footage of the legendary British heavy metal band's June 2008 performance at the Download Festival at Castle Donington, England will be included in the upcoming SAXON documentary, "Heavy Metal Thunder - The Movie". Biff states, "We feel this was such an important event in our recent career that it has to be included. This means the release [of the DVD] will be delay[ed] for a while. After all, it's all about quality not quantity."

He adds, "After seeing all of the DVD last night I think you will love it, so don't blame [the filmmakers, U.K.'s] Coolhead [Productions]. It's my fault wanting to give you the best documentary that we possibly can."

Produced by the makers of the critically acclaimed "Ian Gillan: Highway Star" (Universal, 2007),"Heavy Metal Thunder - The Movie" celebrates SAXON's 30th anniversary. It not only has contributions from members of SAXON, past and present, but also from the likes of Lars Ulrich (METALLICA); Lemmy, "Fast" Eddie Clarke, Phil Campbell, Mikkey Dee (MOTÖRHEAD); Harvey Goldsmith, Danko Jones, Doro Pesch and many, many others. It will also feature plenty of rare archive material and previously unseen concert footage, from the classic 1980s lineup to the brilliant St. George's Day show in 2008 and Wacken Open Air in 2009.
