SHINEDOWN: New Video Interview Available

March 13, 2009

Albany's New Rock Alternative Channel 103.1's "Backstage Correspondent" winner Rich conducted an interview with Brent Smith and Barry Kerch of the Jacksonville, Florida-based hard rock/post-grunge band SHINEDOWN on March 6, 2009. Watch the five-minute chat below.

SHINEDOWN has announced that the title track from its latest album, "The Sound Of Madness", will be the next single from the disc,. An official radio add date has yet to be determined. "Sound Of Madness" will follow "Second Chance", the CD's second single, which recently topped the rock radio charts. Brent Smith told The Pulse of Radio that "Sound Of Madness" doesn't have the same uplifting message as its predecessor. "People always have a person that they see self-destructing themselves, and at a point in time, you get over trying to make them understand," he said. "And as you help them, they keep constantly just going downhill. And it's this song where it's the person telling the other person, 'You know what? I know that you've gone through all this stuff, I know that it's hard, but I've gone through the same thing that you've gone through.'"

"The Sound of Madness", SHINEDOWN's third studio effort, has sold around 300,000 copies in the U.S. since coming out last June.

SHINEDOWN is currently on tour with SALIVA through late March. The two groups play on Wednesday night (March 11) in Mokena, Illinois.
