SIX FEET UNDER To Headline X-MAS FEST 09
March 13, 2009Almost Famous, a booking agency based out of Belgium and Holland, has announced that Florida-based death metallers SIX FEET UNDER will headline the X-Mas Fest 09 in December. The rest of the lineup will be announced in the coming weeks, "but rest assured that it will be crushing!" says the agency.
"Death Rituals", the latest album from SIX FEET UNDER, entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 64. The CD sold around 2,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The LP debuted at No. 14 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
According to a press release, "Death Rituals" "features 12 tracks of pure American death metal delivering a bludgeoning slab of metal that will leave fans hungering for more. Legendary death metal vocalist Chris Barnes, along with guitarist Steve Swanson, bass legend Terry Butler, and drummer Greg Gall, continue to follow the dark and demented path that merges what Outburn magazine calls 'tried-and-true death groove' with stomach-turning lyrics and themes. 'Death Rituals' saw the band returning to Morrisound Studios in Tampa, Florida with Chris Carroll at the helm with mixing duties being handled by Toby Wright and the return of SIX FEET UNDER's old friend Bill Metoyer, who recorded the band's CD 'Warpath', helping out with recording of the drums."
"Seed Of Filth", the latest video from SIX FEET UNDER, can be viewed below. The clip was filmed on October 31 at Gasoline Alley in Largo, Florida with director Mario D. Framingheddu, who previously worked with the group on the videos for "Ghosts of the Undead" and "Doomsday".
"This is one of our favorite songs from the album, one we are just really stoked on," said Chris Barnes. "We're really proud of this video and how it came out."
