SKID ROW To Play For U.S. Troops In Korea
April 3, 2005On May 9, SKID ROW will head east to Korea to play five shows at five different military bases for the United States armed forces. When asked about the upcoming performances, bassist Rachel Bolan said, "This is awesome. With all the traveling we do, we meet a lot of people in the service but we've never played in front of 20,000 of them! It's going to be great!"
Guitarist Scotti Hill added: "This will be something that we will never forget. To play in front of the men and women that give so much of themselves to keep our country free and safe is an honor. I can't wait."
SKID ROW's last visit to Korea was in 1994.
As previously reported, SKID ROW began rehearsals at Koda Studios in Decatur, GA in January and were expected to move to Wireworld Studios in Nashville, TN sometime in February for the recording of their new CD. Producing the effort is veteran knob-twiddler Michael Wagener, who had previously worked with the band on their first two albums.
SKID ROW's current recording/touring lineup is believed to include drummer Dave Gara (GARGANTUA, ex-BETTY BLOWTORCH, former NASHVILLE PUSSY drum tech),who replaced Phil Varone (ex-SAIGON KICK) in May 2004. Varone had previously left SKID ROW for "personal reasons" and was replaced for a short time in January 2004 by Orlando, Florida native Tim DiDuro.
