SKINLAB: New Audio Interview With STEEV ESQUIVEL Available
September 24, 2008Bassist/vocalist Steev Esquivel of the veteran San Francisco Bay Area metallers SKINLAB was interviewed for a recent episode of the "VM Underground" radio show. The chat is now available for streaming and/or download at this location.
SKINLAB recently announced plans to release a digital EP titled "Bloodclot". The effort will feature the following tracks:
01. Face Of Aggression
02. In For The Kill
03. Bloodclot (demo)
04. Planets Collide (CROWBAR cover)
05. Wasting Away (NAILBOMB cover)
Commented the band: "The EP comes out of sheer frustration of not having any NEW music out in close to five years now! We originally planned on releasing 'Digikill' in early 2008, [but] due to label issues the project was scrapped and we were forced to abandon the whole thing. We've been sitting on 'Face Of Aggression' and 'In For The Kill' and have been wanting to make them available for everyone, so we decided to put together a digital release ourselves to make 'em available alongside another new track 'Bloodclot' and couple covers of two of our favorite bands NAILBOMB and the mighty CROWBAR!! These two bands were huge influences on SKINLAB in the early days NAILBOMB's 'Wasting Away' is just crushing and CROWBAR's 'Planets Collide' is one of the all-time heaviest song ever! Can't fuckin wait to share this with you all!!"
SKINLAB's "In for the Kill" video was filmed on May 12 at the group's warehouse in Oakland, California with new, up-and-coming director Jourdan McClure. The clip will feature an appearance by rebounding UFC fighter Nate Quarry and Greg Thompson.
The band has uploaded a pre-production version of a new song, "In for the Kill", to its MySpace page.
SKINLAB released a live album, "SkinnedAlive!", on April 29 via BCD Music Group. The CD was recorded on June 3, 2007 at The Metro in Oakland, California.
