SLIPKNOT Cancel Korean Show

SLIPKNOT have cancelled their previously announced Korean show in early February in order to concentrate on completing their new album, according to a statement released Monday (Dec. 22) by the Korean concert promoter Access Entertainment. The Iowa-based nine-piece were due to perform at Seoul's 12,000-capacity "Jam Sil" Indoor Sports Center on February 3 in what would have marked their first-ever appearance in Korea.

Although there has been no official announcement on the matter, SLIPKNOT are also believed to have pulled out of their planned appearance at the Sonicmania festival, a two-day event set to take place in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan on January 31-February 1, 2004.

SLIPKNOT are currently recording the much-anticipated follow-up to 2001's "Iowa" in the Hollywood Hills, California with producer Rick Rubin (SYSTEM OF A DOWN, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, AUDIOSLAVE, SLAYER). A May/June 2004 release through Roadrunner Records is expected.
