SLIPKNOT completed a European festival run earlier this summer, which marked the band's first live gigs since bassist Paul Gray's passing.
In a recent interview with Revolver magazine, SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor stated about the Rock In Rio performance, "The tour this summer was, in a lot of ways, a learning curve. I mean, when you break it down, it was about how do you move on? How do you take those first faltering steps and move on? How do you make sense of [Paul's death]. I think, with this tour, we made a little bit of sense. And so Rock In Rio is a gigantic step, to be honest. It will be the biggest audience weve ever played for. It will be one of those gigs that is very much like Donington, very much like Knebworth it's a prestige gig. It's one of those gigs that you grow up reading about other bands doing it, everyone from METALLICA to IRON MAIDEN. It's heavy duty. But at the end of the day, it's gonna be great. I think the South American fans are gonna be stoked. I think they're really gonna enjoy what we do. And I think Pauly will definitely be there with us, and I think we'll just get up there and celebrate with him, the way we did in Europe and the way that, in time, we will do with everyone."
The 10th-anniversary reissue of SLIPKNOT's sophomore album, "Iowa", will be made available on November 1 via Roadrunner Records. The 2CD/1DVD set will include the original album; previously unreleased live audio from the band's 2002 DVD "Disasterpieces"; and "Goat", an-hour long film capturing the insanity that was "Iowa".

The special-edition CD/DVD reissue of SLIPKNOT's self-titled debut album which came out in September 2009 sold around 4,600 copies in the United States in its first, shortened week of release (the set came out on Wednesday, September 9 whereas new albums usually go on sale on Tuesdays in the U.S.). The album has shifted more than two million units domestically, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
SLIPKNOT's last record, "All Hope Is Gone", was released in 2008.
