SODOM: DVD To Arrive In May, New Album Due In September

January 24, 2005

German thrashers SODOM have pushed back the projected release date of their first DVD to May from the previously announced March. According to SODOM frontman Thomas "Angelripper" Such, the DVD's concert footage will contain 23 songs. An overview of the band's career thus far and additional bonus features will also appear on the disc. "Such a giant DVD we make only once in a lifetime, so I don't want to make compromises in quality and completeness," Angelripper had previously said. "But you'll not be disappointed, the DVD will be the absolute hammer, I promise!"
In other news, SODOM have announced that the group's new studio album will not appear until September.

As previously reported,, the first two SODOM picture discs in a series of five will be released at the end of this month on the GMR/Vinyl Maniacs label. The "Agent Orange" and "In the Sign of Evil" discs are limited to 1,000 copies each.

SODOM has been confirmed to perform at next year's Minneapolis Mayhem 2 festival, set to take place on May 7, 2005. This will be SODOM's only North American performance. Also scheduled to appear at the festival are long-running San Francisco Bay Area metallers SADUS and Las Vegas, NV thrashers AVENGER OF BLOOD. More bands will be announced soon.
