SOLEMNITY Records Classical Version Of BATHORY Song For Upcoming Vinyl Release
November 18, 2006Germany's SOLEMNITY recently teamed up with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra to record a classical version of BATHORY's "One Rode To Asa Bay". The song was recorded at the Ulmer Münster Cathedral in Ulm, Germany, which is said to be the highest Catholic church on earth. "THIS was the place to call on the ancient Gods and show Quorthon and all the Ases in Valhalla that they triumphed at last," the band said in a statement. "You will hear the original medieval church organ, string quartets, female and male choirs, timpanis, mouthdrums and things you can't imagine. All LIVE from the Ulmer Münster on 64-tracks!!!!!!! The song will be released early 2007 as a 10" vinyl ONLY release with LIZZY BORDEN's 'There will be Blood Tonight' on the flipside."
SOLEMNITY's third album, "Shockwave of Steel", was released in 2005. An EP, entitled "Another Bloody Sabbath", followed in April 2006.
