SPIRALARMS Parts Ways With Drummer CHRIS KONTOS, Announces Replacement

January 14, 2009

SPIRALARMS, the San Francisco Bay Area-based band featuring Craig Locicero (FORBIDDEN, ex-MANMADEGOD) on guitar, Tim Narducci (ex-SYSTEMATIC) on vocals, Chris "Cornbread" Lombardo on bass and Brad Barth on keyboards, has parted ways with drummer Chris Kontos (ex-MACHINE HEAD, TESTAMENT). According to Narducci, "Chris has moved on to take on other musical endeavors. We wish him the best always, and he will always be a brother in my book; thanks for rocking with us, man!"

Kontos' replacement in SPIRALARMS is Ron Redeen, who has previously played with THE ESSENESS PROJECT, the band featuring former NEVERMORE/TESTAMENT and current FORBIDDEN guitarist Steve Smyth. "What a great guy and unbelievable drummer!" says Narduccci.

In other news, SPIRALARMS has added a new rhythm guitarist in the form of Narducci's brother Greg. Tim says, "[Greg] always told me, 'One day we'll play in a band together and it's gonna be killer!' He was right all along; it is killer."

With regards to the band's future plans, Tim Narducci writes on the SPIRALARMS MySpace page, "Last year was a difficult one for us, with losing loved ones, a record that didn't see its release, botched business moves… I am still in shock that we were able to get past out internal bullshit and focus on the one and most important thing, MUSIC. Well, here we are....with a few new bandmates, some new music, and motivation to keep going.

"If anything was gained out of all of the heartache of 2008 was to learn to forgive, and not forget why we make music in the first place...because it's vital."
