STAR ONE Announce Backing Vocalist For European Tour

August 5, 2002

Irene Jansen, the sister of AFTER FOREVER frontwoman Floor Jansen will be supplying the backing vocals on the forthcoming European tour by STAR ONE, the project led by AYREON mastermind Arjen Lucassen (ex-BODINE, VENGEANCE). Says Lucassen: "I once saw a girl freaking out in the audience to the music of AFTER FOREVER. She turned out to be Floor's younger sister Irene Jansen. Now we were looking for a backing singer, and I jokingly said to Floor that it was a pity that her sister wasn't a singer, because she would look great on stage together with Floor. To my surprise, Floor told me that her sister is a great singer! At first, I wasn't so sure about it, it would be too good to be true. So they recorded some of the STAR ONE and AYREON songs together, they sent it to me on a minidisc and it sounds amazing, what a pair!"

As previously reported, STAR ONE will embark on a short European tour in late September/early October. Dubbed Intergalactic Space Crusaders, the tour will cover Holland, Germany, France and Belgium will feature renditions of STAR ONE and AYREON material.
