STATIC-X Frontman Slams BLABBERMOUTH.NET 'Haters' And 'Retard Losers'

Rockinbones.net conducted an interview with STATIC-X frontman Wayne Static and his wife, former adult film star Tera Wray, following a Rockin' Bones clothing shoot on April 19, 2010.

On the topic of his upcoming solo album, Wayne said, "I had an idea of doing this solo project for a long time. The album is called 'Pighammer' and it's gonna come out later this year. I'm taking a break from STATIC-X and doing my own thing for a while. And my wife, Tera Static, is actually gonna be my bass player in the band. It's gonna be awesome."

Tera: "We need to make this clear for everybody, 'cause, for some reason, somebody has to spread rumors that are not true. A solo record does not mean two people. I am not helping him write the music, I am just touring with him playing bass because A) I'm free, and B) It's one less person on the bus."

Wayne: "Yeah, it's not like we're making the record together. To clarify, it's a solo record. I'm doing everything myself — I'm writing and playing everything myself — and she's gonna be in my touring band."

Tera: "So everybody that thinks that me and Wayne are doing a solo record together and is calling me 'Yoko Ono' is completely wrong. [Laughs]"

Wayne: "You know, people hate me or love me and I just don't even bother paying attention to it anymore. You go on the Internet and people say all this terrible stuff. There's a lot of people that hate me on these 'great' web sites like Blabbermouth and all this kind of stuff… I don't even look at it anymore, because it doesn't matter. There's always gonna be haters and there's always retard losers out there who say anything they want with no accountability. Don't even get me started about how much I hate the Internet, 'cause I'll rant for hours about this."

Tera: "People have always either loved me or hated me my whole life, so I'm used to it."

Wayne: "Here's what it comes down to: I've been making records and touring for over 10 years now. I'm very successful living it, doing it… I'm with an absolutely beautiful wife that's half my age. So, [extends middle finger to the camera] all the haters… you can fuck yourselves. [Laughs]"

Tera: "I mean, I don't care, really. 'Cause if that's all you have to do is sit on the Internet and talk about how you hate somebody? That's pretty sad. I mean, go talk about the people you love and praise the people you love instead of going around spinning your tops [about how] this person sucks… And you know, [it's] like, well, you suck."

When asked if his upcoming solo record is going to have an "industrial" feel to it, Wayne replied, "Yeah, it's actually a little bit more industrial than some of the recent STATIC-X stuff. This album is kind of like what I envisioned STATIC-X would be when I started the band. I've written and produced everything STATIC-X has ever done over the whole course of our career anyway, so it's definitely gonna sound similar to STATIC-X. But there's gonna be no compromises in it, so it's gonna be a little more industrial, I'm gonna vary my vocal style a lot more in it. Anyone who likes STATIC-X will definitely like my solo record." He added, "I'm writing, recording and producing everything at home, and it's gonna be awesome. Our new home… We actually moved. We don't live in L.A. anymore — we live out in the desert in the middle of nowhere. At the dirthouse. We got five acres of dirt and a house out there and a bunch of trucks, and we're… We're hillbillies."

"Cult of Static", the latest album from STATIC-X, sold 19,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 16 on The Billboard 200 chart.

STATIC-X's previous CD, "Cannibal", opened with more than 30,000 copies back in April 2007 to land at No. 36. This represented a slight drop from the 35,000 tally registered by the band's "Start a War" album, which came out in June 2005 and debuted at No. 29.
