STRAPPING YOUNG LAD's 'Alien' To Be Released On Vinyl

May 11, 2005

Hot on the heels of Deepsend Records signing an exclusive distribution deal with CM Distro (a division of Century Media),the label has also secured the licensing rights to press all future Century Media releases on vinyl. The label will start this vinyl deal off with a limited-edition pressing of STRAPPING YOUNG LAD's "Alien" on gatefold LP and later will issue DARK TRANQUILLITY's "Character" on LP format as well.

All vinyl will be extremely limited to a special one-time only pressing of 500 copies all hand-numbered to commemorate the first time ever that these bands have had a release on vinyl format, including STRAPPING YOUNG LAD. The label has already started taking pre-orders for STRAPPING YOUNG LAD via mailorder (webstore pre-orders will begin next week) as the plan is to have this record out in mid-June in time for SYL's slot on the Sounds of the Underground Tour featuring LAMB OF GOD, OPETH, GWAR, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE etc. It has also been announced that the "Alien" LP will be issued in two different colors of vinyl (all vinyl licenses will have two distinct vinyl colors as well). The first 300 orders of SYL "Alien" will receive green vinyl while the rest of the press will be issued on blue.

Please be aware that this record has already received more interest than we could ever imagine and will definitely sellout before its official release date in mid-June. Deepsend has decided to start pre-ordering early to give all fans worldwide an equal opportunity to own this gem (arguably the best of the band's career),since fans overseas deserve just as much chance as those stateside.
