SUICIDE SILENCE Announces New Album Title
June 22, 2007Riverside, CA-based quintet SUICIDE SILENCE has set "The Cleansing" as the title of its much-anticipated debut album, due on September 18 via Century Media. A new track, "Unanswered", has just been posted on the band's official MySpace page along with the disc's striking cover art and official track listing.
"The Cleansing" was recorded with acclaimed producer John Travis (STATIC-X),while Tue Madsen (HIMSA, THE HAUNTED) handled mixing duties. The artwork was created by Dave McKean (Mirrormask, Sandman comics). A special pre-order package is now available at his location that includes the album for $9.99 as well as a free t-shirt for the first 500 fans to purchase.
Regarding the album artwork, vocalist Mitch Lucker states, "From the very beginning, we wanted artwork that would separate ourselves from other bands and add some value to the purchase so fans would be less prone to simply download the record. Dave went above and beyond helping us achieve that as he created an entire layout that exceeded our expectations and further enhanced the album artistically."
