TEXAS IN JULY To Release Digital-Only EP

October 7, 2008

In an increasingly digital world, more and more labels have begun to eschew the old business model and release digital-only albums. Never the type of label to ignore the signs of the time, CI Records has announced the first signing to its digital-only imprint, CI Digital, in the form of Lancaster, Pennsylvania's TEXAS IN JULY. The band's debut, entitled "Salt Of The Earth", is a brutal, full-speed, head-on collision into an absolute wall of sound. Produced and engineered by Carson Slovak of CENTURY (Prosthetic Records),the effort is filled with technical, riffing guitars that are propelled forward by thunderous, booming drum sounds. It's a sound and songwriting ability that belies one interesting fact — TEXAS IN JULY doesn't feature a single member over the age of 17.

But don't let that fact turn you off. The wunderkinds of TEXAS IN JULY are proving the cliché that age is nothing but a number to be true with prodigious talent and songwriting chops that exceed that of most people twice their age. Which isn't to say, "These kids are good for their age." The qualifier about age is unnecessary – the fact is that these kids are good.

In addition to being a major draw as a headliner in their hometown (routinely packing Lancaster's 850-plus-capacity venue The Chameleon Club),TEXAS has shared the stage with an impressive number of heavy hitters in the metal music scene, such as EVERY TIME I DIE, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, AUGUST BURNS RED, MAYLENE AND THE SONS OF DISASTER, THE BLED and more.
