THANATOSCHIZO Signs To MAJOR LABEL INDUSTRIES

March 3, 2009

Portuguese avant-garde maniacs THANATOSCHIZO have inked a deal with Major Label Industries for the release of a semi-acoustic CD, due later in the year. The record is expected to include reworked songs from all THANATOSCHIZO albums — "Schizo Level", "InsomniousNightLift", "Turbulence" and "Zoom Code" — featuring an even more avant-garde approach, with ethnical and progressive distinctive touches already hinted in the band's "regular" releases.

Guilhermino Martins, THANATOSCHIZO's guitar player, states that the recording of something like this has been in the collective's mind for quite some time. "It's funny, because the first time we ever came across the idea of reworking our songs in this format happened due to a (store) FNAC's demand, as the only way we could possibly perform there to promote our second album," he says. "We liked it and ever since then, for every new album we release, we also work on parallel acoustic remakes of the songs."

He continues, "In this period of our career, the most exciting step for us is exactly this: to record and release a semi-acoustic album and add some ethnical influences to it, along with a few other musical approaches, which come naturally with the experience we have gathered so far."

THANATOSCHIZO's fourth album, "Zoom Code", was released in March 2008 via My Kingdom Music (Recital Records in Portugal). The CD was produced by Luis Barros (TARANTULA) and was mastered by Tommy Newton (CONCEPTION, HELLOWEEN). It features guest appearances by Svein Egil Hatlevik (ZWEIZZ, FLEURETY, ex-DØDHEIMSGARD) and Timb Harris of ESTRADASPHERE/SECRET CHIEFS 3.
