THE ACCUSED: New Songs Available For Free Download

February 6, 2007

Seattle's reigning kings of "splatter rock" THE ACCUSED have posted two songs from their latest studio session — "Fuck Sorry" and "Scotty Came Back" — at their official web site, www.splatterrock.com.

The session that yielded the "Why Even Try?" EP was helmed by Randall Dunn at a recording facility in Seattle only last month as THE ACCUSED was preparing to leave for its now-cancelled European tour with CRUMBSUCKERS.

Elaborating on the impromptu "free ACCUSED songs" campaign, THE ACCUSED guitarist Tommy Niemeyer said, "We wanted to get a couple of these new songs out to the fans who may be wondering what the fuck is going on. Well, instead of me sitting here going, 'blah...blah...blah...', why not go get these songs, listen to them and you will know. All I've ever wanted to do in this band is make wicked, kick ass, rip-yer-face-off music. Well, this band's done just that — again."

THE ACCUSED will use its newfound "free time" to continue writing material for thteh band's new full-length release, due out this summer; and perform a few live shows in the Pacific Northwest this March through May.

The "Why Even Try?" EP marks the debut of the "new" THE ACCUSED lineup, which features Brad Mowen (BURNING WITCH, AVSA, 90 PROOF, MOMMY, SWEATY NIPPLES, APES OF WRATH) on vocals, Mike Peterson (BAM BAM, MOMMY, APES OF WRATH, SEAN) on drums, Prof. Iman A. Phid (formerly "Father Shark" of industrial/metal perverts THE PLEASURE ELITE) on bass and original guitarist Tommy Niemeyer.

THE ACCUSED's first album in over ten years, "Oh, Martha!" was recorded by Jack Endino at Scotty Crane's Soundhouse Studios in Seattle and was mastered by Scott Hull (PIG DESTROYER). The CD, which was originally issued in the U.S. in 2005, was released in Europe via Nuclear Blast Records.
