THE BERZERKER: New Album Samples Available

October 10, 2008

60-second snippets of all the tracks that are featured on THE BERZERKER's fifth album, "The Reawakening", have been posted on the web site of the group's self-run record label, Berzerker Industries.

Commented mainman Luke Kenny: "It's the old 'try-before-you-buy' principle. We want people to know what they're getting when they buy our album. That's one of the reasons downloading music has become so popular. You would buy a CD and have no idea if it was what you liked until you forked out your cash.

"Can you really rely on CD reviews? If not, please come and have a free listen for yourself. You've got nothing to lose and We've got nothing to hide. Seeing as there is no way to physically go into a music store and listen to the album before you buy it, the only way to buy our album is directly from us, NO retail, NO middleman — just US and YOU. You buy it, we pack the CD and mail it to you. And by buying directly, you support us directly ... simple."

British music channel Scuzz TV conducted an interview with THE BERZERKER at the Bloodstock Open Air 2008 festival, which was held August 15-17 at Catton Hall in Derbyshire, England. Watch the chat below.

"The Reawakening" track listing:

THE BERZERKER previously released four full-length albums — "The Berzerker" (2000),"Dissimulate" (2002),"World of Lies" (2005) and "Animosity" (2007) — through Earache Records. During the early part of their career as a live act, band members were identified only as The Vocalist, The Guitarist, The Bassist and The Drummer, distinguishable on stage only by the intricate monster masks they wore. However, the group has since abandoned this concept.

A DVD documentary, "The Principles and Practices of The Berzerker" (2004),includes several hours of live concert footage, as well as the first public images of the band members without their monster masks.

Most of the band's music videos have been banned from broadcast for reasons such as the possible epileptic fit-inducing imagery contained in the video "Forever", and the horrific imagery of "Reality". The latter features graphic images of cadavers and body parts, along with appearances from the band themselves.
