THE GATHERING Start Work On New Album!

December 21, 2001

Holland's THE GATHERING have completed several preliminary recordings for their upcoming studio CD, which is once again being engineered and produced by Zlaya Hadzich for a fall 2002 release through Century Media Records. According to the band, some of [the initial tracks] are really state of the art, some will be re-recorded. We do not try to force or hesitate anything. This band operates best with no time pressure, no deadlines, no master plan. Well, we have a plan, but quite rough. Things are still changing, songs are growing, so it makes no sense to enter the finishing state (mix/master) already. If we have the feeling the development of the songs is finished and the ideas are mature enough, we will go to the 2nd level Zlaya became a very important person in arranging and nursing the new tunes. He is the 6th (invisible) bandmember with a lot of input and healthy ideas. A previously announced EP, which was mentioned as a possibility for early 2002, is no longer being considered, and the band is fully focusing on the recording of their seventh studio CD.
