THE HAUNTED Frontman: 'We All Have The Right To Voice Our Thoughts And Opinions'

September 25, 2006

THE HAUNTED frontman Peter Dolving has posted the following message on his MySpace page:

"I think one of the funniest things are how some dudes get pissed off and go on endlessly about the shit I say instead of just dealing with their own lack of smack and balls. What fucking dweebs. The best comments so far have been I think the one about how I should move to China (why the fuck would I want to move to a communist capitalist country...) and the one kid who was all pissed off at me implying the possibility that Jesus was a Jew...

"Holy motherfuck, ignorance will prevail. Right now I'm plowing a book about the dead sea scrolls by the same guys who wrote 'Holy Blood, Holy Grail'. Good stuff, nothing much surprising that I hadn't figured allready, but it is relieving reading about the historical paralells of the Selots, Essenenians and other pre-Christian Jewish secterist movements that were the roman opposition at the time of the so-called Messiah.

"I can't help but getting back to the fact that Jesus was really nothing (if in fact he really existed) but an ordinary dude with a big mouth, much like me or most of the dudes and dudettes who are my friends in other bands or generally in the underground. You know the deal with people using him for an alibi really disgusts me.

"I've been talking to Per who has this brilliant idea that we ought to start a Hamas grindcore band. Hell, there are so many right wing pro-Christian mutherfuckers out there I'm sure iut would stir up some shit. 'Allah akbar!!!!!!!!!!' Or, whatever man...

"Think about. There is not really any large differences when it comes to religion. They are all more about ensuring the survival of the quarry. It's fucking politics. Classic old power tripping. Nothing special.

"I was doing interviews all last week and one of the things I kept thinking about was the political lack of knowledge that seems to be flourishing amongst the pimple-ridden idiots who think it of importance to comment news on different websites. So many are so fucking caught up in a political scope where all there is is right wing and left wing. Well, I honestly see that model of political ideals to be absolutely outdated and well, just stoopid. I know there are fucking loads of assholes like myself who look at that way of explaining reality and just shake our heads. I mean get a grip folks. Communism — stoopid. Capitalism — stoopid. Liberalism — stoopid. I look at how the stereotypes and simplifications of good or bad just pours out of fucking CNN, ABC, NBC, Sky News etc. And it makes me, well — tired.

"You know, I'm sure there's been some good in all the old dictators, you know they might have been nice to aniomals, or liked to clean dirty feet, or maybe they were pious religious devotees — but never the less... It doesn't change what they did on the grand political scale.

"Basically, my entire philosophy is about my individual freedom. I don't really mind that people don't agree with me on many levels. Hell, I don't agree about loads of shit with my friends. That don't mean I don't love and respect them. Basically I think we all have the right to voice our thoughts and opinions and live our lives without someone telling you what to do..."
