THE PSYKE PROJECT Completes Work On New Album

November 11, 2008

Danish act THE PSYKE PROJECT has issued the following update:

"For the last 4 months we have spent hours and hours together in the rehearsal room composing and getting the stuff ready for the studio live recording. This progress has been extremely important for all of us and quite intense. Besides being in a band together, we are best friends and fellow mates, which means spending a lot of time together just hanging out and chilling. It has resulted in many hours talking the songs and progress through to the very final note. We have been nearding this to the extreme, you might say.

Now it's all in the past and we have the album in our hands. It's the best feeling ever and makes us all proud, but at the same time it leaves us with a glance of sadness in our minds and hearts that it's all over.

"On our drive back from Gothenburg, Sweden to Copenhagen, Denmark we had the chance to listen to the record as a whole musical experience with all tracks in order — like when you guys will hear it once it's released. All 12 songs cover approximately 68 minutes.

"The general atmosphere on this album is sluggish, pounding and mellow. It's brutal and cold as hell itself and nothing has been compromised. At the same time, all songs have like a sad feeling and tension into it.

"Our musical expression has been defined quite a lot the past years and we have all evolved as musicians and composers.
"If you are into the more epic, noisy and heavy parts of THE PSYKE PROJECT from 'Daikini' and 'Apnea', you might find this album interesting as well."

THE PSYKE PROJECT's new album was recorded at Studio Fredman in Sweden and will be released on August 24, 2009.

THE PSYKE PROJECT's latest album, "Apnea", was released June 30 within Europe and July 8 in North America via Lifeforece Records. The CD was produced by Tue Madsen (HIMSA, RAUNCHY, MNEMIC, ABORTED, AUGUST BURNS RED) and "demonstrates an overwhelming connection to extreme music and is the epitome of the ever-expanding and evolving musical outlook for Lifeforce Records," according to a press release. "THE PSYKE PROJECT has demonstrated a unique approach to metal and hardcore that expands our knowledge of the genre and catapults it into future."

Formed in 2001 in Copenhagen, Denmark, THE PSYKE PROJECT's main motivation for playing this type of music emerges from a profound love for the dark and brutal sound of hardcore and the sincerity and honesty in the statements made by most bands from this scene. THE PSYKE PROJECT seeks to create an intense chaotic sound mixed with heavy riffs and beautiful epic passages.
