February 23, 2004

U.K. progressive metallers THRESHOLD have added BALANCE OF POWER as a second special guest for their London show in September. So far three UK shows have been confirmed for THRESHOLD, which are likely to be the forerunner to a European tour later in the autumn.

Sep. 02 - The Underworld - London, UK (w/ POWER QUEST, BALANCE OF POWER)
Sep. 03 - Bloodstock Festival - Derby, UK
Sep. 04 - Classic Rock Society - Rotherham, UK (w/ POWER QUEST)

In the meantime, THRESHOLD drummer Johanne James's other band PROJECT X are playing a number of London dates in the next few weeks:

Feb. 26 - Ocean, Hackney E8 - London, UK
Mar. 04 - W14 West Kensington, W14 - London, UK
Mar. 15 - Purple Turtle, Camden - London, UK
Mar. 24 - Underworld, Camden - London, UK
Apr. 26 - Mean Fiddler - London, UK

THRESHOLD are currently back at Thin Ice Studios recording a new studio album. The first photos of the recording sessions can be seen at in the "Gallery" section. The album will include bassist Steve Anderson who replaced Jon Jeary on tour in 2003 for the "Critical Energy" release. The album has a working title of "Subsurface" although this may change as the recordings develop. The album is slated for a July release.

The band's long awaited debut live DVD was released at the beginning of the month in PAL format, with an NTSC version due for release in the US soon. A limited-edition version (PAL only) includes a 2-CD audio version of the concert, which can also be bought separately for those who only want the audio.
