Commented vocalist Dave Peters: "'Tombs' and 'Blinding Light' are my two favorite songs on the record. 'Blinding Light' didn't initially have that creepy vibe that it took on later during production. Unfortunately, the vocal and guitar layers are what give it that vibe, and it's not real easy to reproduce live as a four-piece. I'm notorious for painting us into a corner that way, but it's ridiculous to dumb a song down or not use parts in fear of translating it live in my opinion."

Peters went on to talk about a past experience of playing a new song live, and the occasional spur-of-the-moment tactics used to get through a set.

"We actually played 'Blinding Light' live once before we finished writing it," he revealed. "I straight-up free-styled the lyrics. No one even noticed. Just nonsense. I probably mentioned waffles and Manny Ramirez. We played with DANZIG that night and I sang the 'Danzig shopping list' while Mark [Choiniere, guitar] was tuning. About nine people lost their minds. The other 2,400 were confused."

THROWDOWN's latest album, "Deathless" sold 2,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD came out in the U.S. on November 10, 2009 through E1 Music (formerly KOCH Records). The CD, which was made available in Europe on January 22, 2010 via Nuclear Blast Records, was produced by Mudrock (AVENGED SEVENFOLD, GODSMACK, POWERMAN 5000) and was mixed by Chris "Zeuss" Harris, who has previously worked with HATEBREED, THE RED CHORD and SHADOWS FALL, among others. The artwork was created by Ryan Clark of Invisible Creature and DEMON HUNTER.

"Deathless" is the band's fourth album with Dave Peters as frontman and primary songwriter, its second with guitarist Mark Choiniere (who joined the band in 2005) and first with bassist Mark Mitchell. Drummer Jarrod Alexander (ex-DEATH BY STEREO),who performed on the band's breakthrough "Haymaker" album in 2003, returned to work on "Deathless".
