TOM MORELLO Would Love To Play With CHRIS CORNELL Again
July 20, 2015According to The Pulse Of Radio, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and AUDIOSLAVE guitarist Tom Morello told Radio.com in a new interview that he would love to play again some day with SOUNDGARDEN and ex-AUDIOSLAVE singer Chris Cornell. The two did share a stage at a Seattle club and the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame not long ago, with Morello saying, "I love Chris and consider him a great friend. The Hall Of Fame jam was nice, but a little chaotic. Playing with him in Seattle, that was just fantastic. I love that guy. He's one of the most talented vocalists in the history of vocalists. And to be able to play the songs that we wrote together, it was awesome and so much fun. I hope we do something like that again."
Morello told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that no matter how their relationship in AUDIOSLAVE ended, he still has great affection for Cornell. "You know, Chris I consider a good friend and I love that guy, you know, and we went through a lot together, both musically and personally," he said. "And it was, you know, my belief that the band's friendship and roots were deep."
AUDIOSLAVE came together in 2001 when Cornell teamed with the instrumental members of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE.
After the break-up of SOUNDGARDEN in 1997, Cornell attempted a solo career which didn't catch fire at the time.
AUDIOSLAVE made three albums, a self-titled 2002 debut, 2005's "Out Of Exile" and 2006's "Revelations", before Cornell left the group in 2007.
He eventually reunited with SOUNDGARDEN in 2010, while RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE intermittently performed live between 2007 and 2011.
