TWISTED SISTER Alter Ego BENT BROTHER Cancels Tonight's Appearance At Benefit Concert
September 6, 2008BENT BROTHER — affectionately known as "TWISTED SISTER's evil twin" (essentially a makeup-less version of the real thing) — has cancelled its appearance at tonight's (Saturday, September 6) benefit concert for the band's "dear friend and former head of security," Sal Valvo, at L'Amour in Staten Island, New York. According to TWISTED SISTED, the group was forced to pull out of the event "due to the illness of band member and inclement weather." The band added, "We will try to re-schedule the show for sometime in October, and we will inform the TWISTED SISTER community if and when the show is rescheduled. However, TWISTED SISTER will be donating $5,000 to the family of Sal Valvo. It is our understanding that the benefit will continue without us, and we encourage anyone who was thinking of attending to do so and contribute to this worthy cause."
Proceeds from the benefit will help defray the cost of Sal's medical bills.
TWISTED SISTER singer Dee Snider recently confirmed rumors that the band's "A Twisted Christmas" concept will make its way to Broadway. Speaking to Ralph Sutton of the nationally syndicated rock radio show "The Tour Bus", Snider revealed, "I have turned 'A Twisted Christmas', the album, into a musical, and in 2009 there will be a new TWISTED SISTER album, which will be a companion piece to go with the existing 'A Twisted Christmas' album. It's gonna be old-school metal songs that are an addition to the show. So 'The Twisted Christmas – A Musical' is a combination of the Christmas album, the new album, which will have new metal songs on it and the best of TWISTED SISTER throughout history."
