U.K. Channel Orders Second Season Of GENE SIMMONS' 'Rock School'
October 6, 2005Digital Spy is reporting that the Britain's Channel 4 has given the go-ahead to a second series of "Gene Simmons' Rock School".
The show, which follows the KISS bassist as he tutors teens in the ways of rock and roll, began in the U.K. last Friday (Sept. 30) with a respectable 2.1 million viewers.
"'Rock School' is a funny and touching series and we are delighted to have it on Channel 4," said Andy Auerbach, C4's commissioning editor for entertainment. "If Gene thought putting the Christ's Hospital kids through their paces was tough, just wait till he sees what we have in store for him for series 2!"
Production will begin swiftly, with filming commencing this week in Kirkley High School in Lowestoft, Suffolk. As well as taking on a mix of students aged 14 and 15, Simmons will also be required to live in a nearby stately home.
