Video: CHRIS BRODERICK Dives Deep On His JACKSON USA Signature Soloist Hardtail Models

July 26, 2016

Former MEGADETH and current ACT OF DEFIANCE guitarist Chris Broderick recently unveiled his new Jackson signature guitars — a USA Signature Soloist HT6 and a USA Signature Soloist HT7. In the ten-minute clip below, Broderick dives deep into the specs for these USA hardtail models — from the Soloist shape to the killswitch and everything in between.

"The first thing that really intrigued me about Jackson was they were like the company that could," says Broderick. "When I was talking to them, I was, like, 'Is there any chance we could maybe do an asymmetrical body?' And they were, like, 'Yeah, sure.' 'What about stainless steel frets on my guitar?' 'Yeah, no problem.' 'What about the 12-inch continuous radius? I really want a continuous 12-inch radius.' 'Oh yeah, sure.' When you meet a company like that, that is so willing to experiment with you and really work on your design, something that is very personal to you, they can't be beat."

Playing off the special take on the venerable Soloist that he designed with Jackson custom shop master builder Mike Shannon, the new hardtail models feature mahogany sides and back, quartersawn maple neck, direct mount Chris Broderick-designed custom DiMarzio pickups, 12-inch-radius ebony fingerboard with 24 jumbo stainless steel frets, 25.5-inch scale, Planet Waves auto-trim tuning machines, Ernie Ball strap locks, killswitch and natural binding on body, neck and headstock.

Both the HT6 and HT7 are available in Black, Trans Black, Trans Blue, Trans Red and Trans White.

In addition to Broderick, ACT OF DEFIANCE features former MEGADETH drummer Shawn Drover, ex-SCAR THE MARTYR singer Henry Derek Bonner and SHADOWS FALL's Matt Bachand (bass).

ACT OF DEFIANCE's debut album, "Birth And The Burial", was released on August 21, 2015 via Metal Blade Records.
