VOIVOD Guitarist Performs 'Symphonic' Versions Of METALLICA Classics (Video)

Former MARTYR and current VOIVOD guitarist Daniel Mongrain was invited to perform a 15-song set of METALLICA classics with the Academis Les Estacades symphonic orchestra from his hometown of Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada under the direction of Sebastien Lepine (SLP) and longtime friends Martin Carbonneau (guitar),Bob St-Laurent (vocals),Rock Laroche (bass) and Simon Lanoglois (drums). The setlist was based on the METALLICA "S&M" album but also featured other tracks which were specially arranged by Pierre Peterson for the occasion.

The free concert, which took place on July 28 at Portuaire park, was attended by around 4,000 people, ranging in age "from 7 to 77 years old," according to Mongrain.
