WARGASM: DVD Update

March 18, 2006

Boston's thrash pioneers WARGASM recorded their special reunion show on Sept. 18, 2004 at the Middle East Club in Cambridge, MA for an upcoming DVD, tentatively due later in the year. The DVD is set to include the entire reunion show, along with a documentary about the band, complete with vintage live footage and other candid footage of the band. Then, of course, there will be the "extras".

Commented guitarist Rich Spillberg in a Feb. 28, 2006 update: "Things are going well here, and the progress of the DVD, although slow, is moving right along. We have the entire reunion concert done, and the documentary is almost halfway through. Man, video work is a lot more time consuming than doing records (which I'm used to). I ain't complaining, though, because honestly, I love doing movies now.

"My wife and I are putting together a non-profit organization called Africa Reads (www.africareads.com),and we have put together a few short films for that as well.

Spillberg also added, "I'm about to go into the studio (in March) to produce the new STEEL ASSASSIN album. They reformed and have written an album that takes off from right where their best tunes left off. They were a major inspiration to us, in seeing that you can really get out there and rip it up, ala PRIEST, MAIDEN, and the SCORPS... It's going to kick ass, no doubt!"

WARGASM split up in 1995 after issuing their third full-length album, "Suicide Notes", through the Transmission label.
