X JAPAN To Play LOLLAPALOOZA
February 3, 2010According to the Anime News Network, X JAPAN leader Yoshiki revealed at the Grammy Awards' red carpet on Sunday (Jan. 31) that his band agreed to appear at the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago from August 6 to August 8. The band received an offer to play at the festival's main stage in Grant Park, although the official detailed announcement will be made public later this month. X JAPAN would be the first Japanese musical act to perform at the festival's main stage.
X JAPAN, one of Japan's most popular and influential bands, filmed four "major music videos" — for the songs "Rusty Nail", "Endless Rain", "I.V." and "Jade" — last week on the streets of downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood, California.
An exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the video shoot for "Jade" can be found on LAWeekly.com. A photo gallery is available at this location.
The surviving X JAPAN members — Toshimitsu "Toshi" Deyama, Yoshiki Hayashi, Tomoaki "Pata" Ishizuka, and Hiroshi "Heath" Morie — reunited in 2007, ten years after they first disbanded and nine years after the death of guitarist Hideto "Hide" Matsumoto.
