METALLICA: Official Footage From BLIZZCON Gaming Convention

November 14, 2014

METALLICA performed live at this year's BlizzCon gaming convention on Saturday, November 8 in Anaheim, California. As with previous years, the performance took place during the convention's closing ceremony.

Fly-on-the-wall footage shot by a MetOnTour reporter at Blizzcon can be seen below. Footage includes the band warming up in the Tuning Room, and both "Cyanide" and "Battery" from the show.

"We're thrilled to have METALLICA blowing out our speakers at BlizzCon this year," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "After two full days of epic gaming and intense eSports action, an earth-shaking concert is the perfect sendoff for everyone at the show and watching from home."

BlizzCon is a celebration of the global player communities surrounding Blizzard Entertainment's Warcraft, Diablo and StarCraft game universes. Taking place November 7 and 8 at the Anaheim Convention Center, this year's show featured a wide array of activities, including discussion panels, tournaments, contests, hands-on play time with the latest Blizzard Entertainment games, and more.

Previous BlizzCon performers have included FOO FIGHTERS, TENACIOUS D, BLINK-182 and OZZY OSBOURNE.

METALLICA will release a limited 12-inch vinyl single of the new song "The Lords Of Summer" on Record Store Day Black Friday, November 28.

The single will feature the "first pass" studio version of the song as well as a live take recorded in Rome in July. This collectable vinyl will only be available through independent record stores and Metallica.com.

METALLICA is reportedly getting back to work this fall on its 10th studio album, due out sometime in 2015.
