VENOM INC. Recruits THE ABSENCE Drummer For European Tour

March 6, 2018

Jeramie Kling of the Tampa-based melodic death metal band THE ABSENCE has revealed that he will play drums for VENOM INC. on the U.K. outfit 's upcoming European tour.

The "Blood Stained Earth Tour 2018", which also features SUFFOCATION, NERVOSA, AETERNAM and SURVIVE, will kick off on March 9 in Bristol, U.K.

Says Jeramie in a Facebook post: "Cat's outta the bag. I'll be out on tour playing drums for heavy metal legends VENOM INC. in Europe.

"Come out and bang your heads to a lot of classic VENOM tunes as well as some really heavy new cuts."

VENOM INC. features original VENOM members Jeff "Mantas" Dunn (guitar) and Anthony "Abaddon" Bray (drums) alongside ex-VENOM bassist/vocalist Tony "Demolition Man" Dolan.

It is not presently clear why Bray is unable to join his VENOM INC. bandmates on the European tour.

VENOM INC.'s debut album, "Avé", was released last August via Nuclear Blast.

VENOM INC. is not to be confused with the Conrad "Cronos" Lant-fronted version of VENOM, which is continuing to tour and make albums under the VENOM moniker. Joining Cronos in that group are Rage (a.k.a. Stuart Dixon) on guitar and Danté (a.k.a. Danny Needham) on drums.

Dunn, Bray and Dolan released three albums as VENOM between 1989 and 1992 — "Prime Evil" (1989),"Temples Of Ice" (1991) and "The Waste Lands" (1992).

The classic lineup of VENOMLant, Dunn and Bray — is often credited with kickstarting the whole black metal movement, but is more accurately seen an early example of extreme metal.

VENOM's second album, 1982's "Black Metal", was a major influence on on the early Norwegian black metal scene.

THE ABSENCE will release "A Gift For The Obsessed", its first album in eight years, on March 23 via M-Theory Audio.
