Singapore's Pulverised Records may claim to be the "home of black and death metal", but somehow a rabid pack of thrash punkers slipped in through the back door and became part of the family. If it is buzzsaw guitars, shout-worthy choruses, and a drummer that connects like Clint Eastwood in "Every Which Way But Loose", then grab yourself a copy of "Zombified" and mosh like it's 1986, which just happens to be the year of the band's formation. Yeah, no shit. You should see the long list of releases the boys have cranked out over the years (not all full-lengths of course).
As for "Zombified", take one part old school thrash riffing and one part British hardcore punk and you've got a damn good idea of what Singapore's OPPOSITION PARTY sounds like. It is a simple matter of bash 'n' slash on the verse and shout militantly on the chorus. Hey, when the formula works and you've got the attitude to go with it, then don't hold back. You are guaranteed to have a blast busting shit up to songs like "Taking Us for Fools", "Brain Fucked", and "It's Chaos". The pace is quick and calamitous, and it's all over in 27 minutes. Any longer would be pointless.
Above all else, what makes "Zombified" tick is a no-holds-barred attitude to wrecking necks and blowing out eardrums. It is like THE EXPLOITED and ANTHRAX conceived a child in the 80s. Ok, maybe that's giving OPPOSITION PARTY a little too much credit. But trust me, the blows reign down mercilessly. This level of street violence can't be faked.
