ARSIS Parts Ways With Vocalist MIKE PARKS
August 31, 2007Virginia's ARSIS has announced the departure of vocalist Mike Parks, who had been filling in for guitarist/singer James Malone on vocals.
Commented ARSIS bassist Noah Martin: "When James' voice went out a couple tours ago, Mike did us the biggest favor by filling in for as long as he did. I know I speak for everyone in ARSIS when I say we couldn't imagine anyone else doing a better job. However, we felt that with the new album right around the corner, we needed to move on with ARSIS in the ARSIS way — with James back on vocals. We wish him nothing but the best, as we'll always be friends."
ARSIS will enter the studio on September 3 to begin recording the band's third full-length album, "We Are the Nightmare", due in early 2008 via Nuclear Blast Records.
The band will hit the road in November with ENSLAVED and in January with EXODUS.
All of the ARSIS recordings (which include two demos, one EP, and two full-length albums) have won the band many rabid fans among the metal underground, the metal press, and metal musicians themselves. Their 2004 debut, "A Celebration of Guilt", was praised to hell and back by Revolver magazine as "the best in the genre since AT THE GATES' legendary swan song ['Slaughter of the Soul']."
ARSIS' latest CD, "United in Regret", was released in October 2005 via Willowtip Records.
