AXEL RUDI PELL Planning New Covers Album
March 6, 2007German guitarist AXEL RUDI PELL has issued the following update:
"We'll be in the studio in April to record a new album which will be a covers album! Yes, that's right... but all NEW recorded material, no songs from earlier releases, just 10 songs which I picked personally out of some really great tunes ! And... surprise...there will be NO cover version of either a DEEP PURPLE or a RAINBOW song! Expect all the songs sounding typically in the style of Axel Rudi Pell! I promise you'll really be satisfied! The record will be released by SPV after the summer."
AXEL RUDI PELL cancelled the final four shows on the second leg of the "Mystica" tour after he had a "breakdown" before the first Spanish show in Madrid and was diagnosed with "total exhaustion combined with a virus."
Upcoming AXEL RUDI PELL shows:
May 26 - Helmond (NL) - Plato
May 27 – Gelsenkirchen (D) - Rock Hard Festival
AXEL RUDI PELL's latest CD, "Mystica", entered the German national chart at position No. 27. It also debuted on the Swedish chart at position No. 56. The CD was co-produced/engineered by Charlie Bauerfeind and features artwork by Colombian illustrator Felipe Machado Franco.
