Concert Promoter Says There Is 'No Logical Reason' For DESTRUCTION's Tour Cancellation

April 25, 2006

South America's management company/record label 4G Shows, who were responsible for organizing DESTRUCTION's aborted dates in Argentina, have issued the following statement regarding the German thrashers' decision to call off the last few gigs of their South American tour:

"4G Shows announces the cancellation of the shows that the German band DESTRUCTION [were scheduled to play] April 25 and 26 in the cities of Córdoba and Rosario, respectively.

"We should make clear that the decision of the band to make such cancellations in Argentina [was attributed] to physical [and mental exhaustion], comunicated by the band when they just arrived to Buenos Aires, because they were coming from a South American tour full of 'organizational inconveniences' and lack of sufficient technical equipment [to successfully carry out the shows] they [were scheduled to put on] in Ecuador and Brazil, [which was] enough to create 'general stress' to the musicians and technical personnel, in a way very similar to [the excuse] METALLICA [used] when they [made] the decision NOT to play in our country.

"DESTRUCTION only played one gig at El Teatro Colegiales with massive attendance (over 1,300 people) last Sunday, April 23rd, [and] the people that attended the concert plus the bands that supported [DESTRUCTION] that night — AVERNAL, MASTIFAL, SERPENTOR, and HORCAS — can [attest to the professionalism of] the event's organization and that the technical equipement was at the same level of the international gigs that were played in the same place in the past. The organization also stayed until very late at night trying to resolve the problems that the band alleged [existed in the way the tour was organized], but it was obvious that from the first time they reached the Buenos Aires ground, the band had no intention in going through the rest of the gigs that were agreed upon with the South American booking management. Rest assured that Brazil's Tumba Productions had nothing to do with the cancellation of the gigs, since we've worked with them many times and everything went smoothly as possible. Regretfully, 4G Shows and the people that always supported the scene understand the cancellation of the shows as: WITHOUT LOGICAL REASON. You can also check the website www.4gproducciones.com.ar and evidence through the photos taken at the Buenos Aires gig, if the band really had insufficient technical equipment to the completation of such events."
