DARK NEW DAY: First Music Posted Online
February 11, 2005DARK NEW DAY, the new "supergroup" featuring Clint Lowery (ex-SEVENDUST) on guitar, Brett Hestla (ex-CREED, VIRGOS MERLOT) on vocals, Will Hunt (ex-SKRAPE, TOMMY LEE) on drums, Clint's brother Corey Lowery (ex-STEREOMUD, STUCK MOJO) on bass, and Troy McLawhorn (ex-DOUBLE DRIVE) on guitar, have set "Twelve Year Silence" as the title of their debut album, due in the summer via Warner Bros. Records.
"Twelve Year Silence" was mixed with producer/mixer Ben Grosse, who has previously worked with FILTER, FUEL, SEVENDUST and ALTER BRIDGE. A MySpace.com page containing three advance cuts from the album — "Taking Me Alive", "Lean" and "Heal In Time" — can be found at this location.
DARK NEW DAY may be new to fans of the bandmembers' previous groups, but it's really a reunion that was twelve years in the making, as the members of DARK NEW DAY literally grew up together. Brothers Clint and Corey Lowery and childhood friend Troy McLawhorn met singer Brett Hestla and drummer Will Hunt while touring as kids in the Southeast club circuit some time ago. "We were playing a circuit that had a lot of older people in it, in their twenties, and we were all kids, so we could identify with each other," says Hunt. "We really came into ourselves on that circuit," adds Corey. "It was like going to rock 'n' roll high school, you'd always try and turn it up because you wanted to impress each other."
