DEVASTATOR Changes Name To BLESSED CURSE

February 9, 2011

Northern California's DEVASTATOR has changed its name to BLESSED CURSE "due to the ever-increasing number of bands deciding to use the name DEVASTATOR, and '.....tor' bands in general that have been springing up these days." The group states, "We've concluded that it is best for our band to stand out from the pack as much as possible, apart from our music alone. This new name fits our band to the letter because of our extensive history of being a band from an area where there is not much of anything for a music scene and having to travel to build any kind of fanbase, life on the road, all the ups and downs and in betweens of being in a metal band. Also, about a year ago we were fortunate to meet a local fan of our band for many years named Clark Webb, who is now wielding rhythm guitar with us, making our band officially no longer a trio and making us an even more powerful force to be reckoned with in the metal music world."

BLESSED CURSE is currently recording its debut album at Trident Studios with producer Juan Urteaga (EXODUS, SADUS, TESTAMENT, HEATHEN),who previously worked with DEVASTATOR on the 2009 EP "Burn The Beast". The band says, "It is awesome to be working together again. The drums have turned out even better than we could have hoped for and the guitar tracks are heavy enough to cause an earthquake."

BLESSED CURSE has inked a licensing deal with the German label Cyclone Empire. The band's new CD will be released by early summer and have a worldwide release/distribution everywhere, excluding Canada and America, where BLESSED CURSE is still looking for a label home.
