DOOGIE WHITE To Duet With JOE LYNN TURNER At 'Classics In Rock' Concert

March 14, 2008

UK-based vocalist Doogie White (RAINBOW, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, CORNERSTONE) will take part in this year's "Classics In Rock" concert at the Ahoy in Rotterdam, Holland on Saturday, April 12. According to Doogie, "The idea is that singers gather in their masses and sing their hits with a great band and orchestra, I don't have any hits so I am going to be singing a couple of songs from [RAINBOW's] 'Stranger In Us All' [album] and a duet with Joe Lynn Turner [RAINBOW, DEEP PURPLE, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN]. It is sure to be a great night of RAWK with a fine selection of singers from different genres."

White added in a brand new update on his MySpace blog, "I have been learning and rehearsing some songs. I am gonna work in London with the band, singing songs by the other singers. It just makes it easier for everyone to know what's going on if there is someone singing along. It's a lot of fun actually and I am learning some new chops from great singers like Jimi Jamison [SURVIVOR] and Eric Martin [MR. BIG].

"Speaking of the former MR. BIG vocalist, both he and I will be giving a guided tour of the stage and backstage area, answering questions, bursting spontaneously into song and hosting a pre show event for VIP package holders.

"Out of all the singers appearing I only know Ian Parry [ELEGY] and Joe Lynn Turner. JLT and I have agreed on the song we are going to sing together. Its tough trying to find a good classic rock song to duet on but we have come up with a cracker. Of course, as soon as you pick one and the band start working on it, suggestions start pouring in. Still I am looking forward to singing on stage with Joe and then sharing a nice cold beer with him afterwards.

"So come along for a rawkin' good night and a cold beer after the show."
