DROWNING POOL Confirmed For Illinois' DU QUOIN STATE FAIR

July 28, 2006

Christi Mathis of The Southern reports that DROWNING POOL has signed on to appear on the Du Quoin State Fair grandstand stage in a special free Fan Appreciation concert 7:30 p.m. Saturday, August 26 in Du Quoin, Illinois.

Fair officials said it appeared the disappointing cancellation of the rock band TRAPT at the 84th annual Du Quoin State Fair has actually become something positive, with two great bands (DROWNING POOL and LIT) replacing one.

"We're excited about the sudden turn-around," said John Rednour Jr., Du Quoin State Fair manager. "We have every reason to believe our new headliners will prove to be more popular with our young fans. Even more important is that it will be a free main grandstand show to everyone as part of our Appreciation Day promotion."

"We actually feel like this could be a stronger show," said Assistant Fair Manager Norm Hill. "We've got two acts instead of one, and they are really good ones. It looks like they're both being very well-received. It's going to be a great show."

Complete details and schedule information may be found on the fair's Web site at www.duquoinstatefair.net. Tickets for fair events may also be purchased at the Du Quoin State Fair ticket office or by calling (618) 542-1535.
